CONFERENCE PREVIEW

Message from the
Conference Committee Chair

SCIP 2012 International Annual
Conference & Exhibition
SCIP

Wilkommen! Bonjour! Bon dia! Bongiorno! Namaste! Ni How Ma! Hello! Dobry Den! Buenos Dias!

I just spent a great couple of days in Vienna at SCIP's European Summit and I am really inspired by all the great work being done by other strategic and competitive intelligence teams around the world. I'm sitting now on the plane headed back to the United States and started thinking more about the upcoming SCIP 2012 International Annual Conference and Exhibition in Philadelphia just a few short months away. As in previous years, the conference is often our only chance to come together as a community, re-connect with old friends, share best practices and new ideas with colleagues and learn more about how we can continue to improve our own personal skills.

This year the committee focused on having a solid balance of vendors and practitioners, adding in new themes and content areas like how social media affects our work or how the continued struggles in the broader economy demand more from us as market and intelligence professionals. We've added some new opportunities to network within industry sectors, and have worked to ensure our interactive breakout sessions are long enough to really engage with each other and build great discussions.

The global cadence for SCIP events is fantastic, with four events held around the world each calendar year. In an effort to foster global best practices, we have tried to include speakers from other SCIP events in our line-up. We hope that you and your colleagues are able come and participate in our active dialogues and interactive break out sessions as well as our panel discussions and round tables.

On behalf of the entire SCIP 2012 Philadelphia Conference Committee, I look forward to seeing you all in a few months.
